Not sure if anyone is receiving my messages

If I send a message and it doesn't show up in my "Sent" box, does this mean the message wasn't sent or that it takes a while to show up as being "Sent". The last message I sent was yesterday and it still hasn't show up.

I believe I did save the message. I'm also not receiving replies it seems.

yep must hit save before sending to be able to see it in that folder.
