Not sure if eggs are fertile

We were all new once :) I started incubating this spring.

You can buy one. Or if you have a flashlight you can wrap cardboard or construction paper around the top. The brighter the flashlight the better
 
I use a headlamp but we already had it so it didn't cost anything. It goes up to 1180 lumens compared to an iPhone 6 light which is ~60 lumens.

ETA I have yet to cause damage to any chicks. It does get warm but it usually only takes >3 seconds to candle an egg so it's not held to any one egg very long.
 
It has three settings. For white/light tan eggs, the dimmest setting works fine. With the brightest setting I can candle them without even going into a dark room though lol. I usually incubate Marans, guinea, and EE eggs, so a bright light is a must!
