my little chick hatched last night and he is so pretty. Here's the thing. With his markings I was thinking he either came from my Speckled Sussex or my dark Cornish hen's. I was figuring the daddy is my white rock roo' "Big Daddy". Well looking at the pictures of the Speckled Sussex and Dark Cornish chick's on the McMurray website since that is where I got the parents from and he is too gray to be either of those. And I was really thinking he might be from my Cornish hen because of the comb. Any way, I got to looking at other breed chicks and he looks just like a silver laced wyandotte! The thing is, the silver laced wyandotte roo I had was really mean so we butchered him October 6th. I set this egg on November 5th BUT the egg was a week old before I set it so it was laid around October 29-30. Is it POSSIBLE that the wyandotte was the daddy or could he still be from the Cornish hen and white rock roo but just the white rock being white caused his coloring to be gray?
