Week 20 - Final Results!

In case anyone was wondering about what my chicks turned out to be, here they are at 20 weeks! (Minus Grumpelstiltskin who was killed by a hawk at 16 weeks.)

Molly - Pullet!



Muffin - Pullet!



Littlefoot - Pullet!



Roobie - Pullet!



Mother Clucker - Pullet!




So all are girls!

No eggs yet, but hopefully they'll start laying within the next few weeks. I hope this helps other people trying to figure out what gender their chicks are!

Pullets. And the Dominique rooster is not 'pure'. He only has a single barring gene, like the hens.

Thank you I sold 7 Roos yesterday and was hoping I kept hens. The 2 others are my babies so had to keep them. Being pure isn't important to me unless it will cause health issues etc. They are just pets.

No, it isn't a cause for health concerns. Chickens can cross breed with other chickens just fine, they are all the same species. Just that if you planned to sell any of their chicks, they wouldn't be purebred Dominiques.

Thanks! Nope they are just for my entertainment and I wouldn't have the 2guys but they are so fun to watch. They try to be sweeties if I have treats lol
