I think you have a cockerel but you can make sure when it grow it chest feathers in if they are black then it is a cockerel

they told my husband it was a isa brown like the redish ones but it's way different in color

I'd like to see the tail feathers but it looks like a hen.

Its not, also the cockerels won't get the distinct saddle feathers and sickle feathers until around 3-4 months I believe. So at this age you normally base it of comb size, hens don't get red combs until they are about to lay (which is around 5 months, some sooner some later).
