any ideas? We have RIRs and these white/black chickens that I was told were Australorps...but they don't look anything like the photos of those! Three hens have been setting ; 5 have hatched!
Two hens shared this nest. When the first eggs hatched, the lighter one took them and has been caring for them while the RIR continues to set on the remaining eggs!

One thing I can say is that they are not Australorps...I can't guess what they might be..sort of look like Delaware mixes or something of that sort.
