Not sure what if anything is wrong with this girl. Update w/ pic 5/28

Update. Well over night I got some good news, I think. The crop is a little softer and she pooped, a lot. Going to continue with the olive oil and yogurt today. Should I be adding a vitamin into her water since we are withholding food? And does anyone think that possibly offering a bit of grit might help break this down faster? Thanks for your help

I'm glad to hear your bird is doing better! Yes by all means give her some grit and some mash, that will both help lubricate the crop and to break up whatever she swallowed.

I would actually recommend some tubing on a syringe instead of an eyedropper for flushing out her crop. That way you can thread the tubing down past the base of her tongue, which is where the entry to their lungs is. If you release fluids above that point, you could risk drowning her.

Another way to ensure her safety is to wrap her in a towel, that way she can't struggle against you and hurt herself. This will also give you two hands to work with, which you will need to pry her beak open. Believe me, it's not opening any other way

Keep trucking, it sounds like you're doing right by her!

OK so sometime this morning or last night Katie layed an egg. THis also came out of one end of the chicken. Wife examined it and said its a lot like the stuff that holds a jello egg together. Thinking maybe this may have been part of the issue as well, seeing as this was her first egg in several days. Her crop area is much softer now and she is pooping regularly. She has always had a somewhat enlarged crop area when compared to the barred rock and the orph so we are leaning towards assuming the worst is over and she is ready to hit the coop tomorrow, providing she doesnt take a turn today.
