It looks pretty solid in the center with some layering outside the center mass. The outer layer is a different material as it has turned a darker color after sitting on the table last night.

I did fail to mention there was some poop in the nest box along with this.

Pig Pen just laid this egg, dunno if it's related to the latch egg or not. It's the second time she laid one like this and that was about a month ago. Otherwise she is not laying. Both times the egg had a tail sorta like part was in the wrong place.

Could be...is that just membrane or some thin shelling?
How do you know which bird...did you see it happen both times...cause aren't all you birds the same breed?

All the birds are the same breed and born on the same day... but I know them all by name as the comb is a big chicken fingerprint to me. And yea when I see one go in the nest box on my camera I usually go and see who is in there. I need to get the nest box camera installed so I can see when someone is inside.

So right now I have Sweet Pea who lays an egg every other day, Pig Pen who has laid two soft shell eggs in the last month or so and the mystery lash egg hen.

Looked like a thin soft shell, it actually broke when she laid it... yea I was watching. I watch over them like a Catholic Nun in school when I can.
