I wasn't dising vaccines. My point was that immunization does not assure good health or even survival. However I the unvaccinated chicks were hatched locally and I do maintain that buying locally hatched chicks instead of chicks shipped from out of state does assure a far better start.Whether or not you lose chicks really has nothing to do with whether or not they are vaccinated. The vaccines don't harm the chicks, and the diseases they protect against (well, other than cocci) aren't chick diseases. They are things that manifest when the bird is older. This is a case of coincidence, not of causation.
