not sure what type of chicken i have

the funny thing is that it dosent make any noises at all it is very shy, runs away from me, and the oter chickens in its flock dont pay attention to it

Kind of a mystery - Your chicken looks like a leghorn (body shape, leg color, comb type), but has too small of a comb & wattles to be a 2 year old rooster and I don't see pointed sickle feathers. It doesn't look like an old hen - legs are still yellow, comb is still red. The long feather is kind of odd for a female and long spurs also seem male, but maybe females get them too after awhile?

Maybe she is laying and eats her eggs? - you did say she gets into the box and trys to eat eggs sometimes.

Edited to add: Does she free-range? She could be laying her eggs somewhere else besides the nestbox.

This one is a little odd, it doesn't look leghornish to me though.. Maybe a leghorn cross. The long spurs indicate that she is probably "at least" a year old, i would think closer to two though.. So if it was a rooster it'd be crowing.

no after i had 4 of my chickens get killed i dont let them free range and this one nver freee ranged before.. when i fist got it i thouht it was a rooster but eventually since it nver crowed just accepted the fact of it being a hen

i am still puzzeled about this chicken and every time i go out to the coop i stair at it and wonder what the heck could it be? i also thought it coulda been a white leghorn but the spurs and nver getting white eggs threw me off

DT chickens is probably right about it being a mix - that would explain not getting white eggs - it does look like a hen - a 2 year old rooster would be very easy to identify.

to me, it looks like a roo. The long tail feathers, and the spurs. Maybe (hopefully!) I am wrong.
