Time Petra started roosting in the Hen House. I sure hope she doesn’t tip that box over, tomorrow night she will go in the Hen House to roost, I’ll settle her in a nest box for the night. She cannot stay in the feedroom forever.

Nope. We can't explain it other than it wasn't infectious in origin.
Likely neurological. She could have been having strokes. She was having trouble eating without choking towards the end. Maybe she was having neurological issues affecting the use of her tongue as well.

She would not try to stand one legged. She was laying on her left side with her right leg sticking out the last week. Likely, it was not just the right leg that was involved.

She did not eat much yesterday and stopped drinking. I was holding her this morning and in a couple of minutes, she was gone.

I wonder if she damaged her neck or back. One sees those long bodied dogs with back issues that end up having nerve damage and limb issues like her.

A neck issue could cause this sort of symptoms.

Nope not happening! Do you know what snow does to feet?! Even my
Chickens won’t walk on snow! Mud good snow bad!

Snow is a different story. Less than 40F I have slippers for only outside.

It's worked out very well over the 2+ years I've deployed it.

It works great. Instead of me sitting, wetting my shoes to clean the nitty gritty whateverness on the bottom, all I have to do is scrape my feet off. The worst is when it gets stuck in the toes. Then you just swipe out the in-between with your finger, and if you really want to, wet a towel and rub it in between.

It also usually saves me a good thirty seconds with having to put shoes on as well.

Not fair!!! I had lunch with two of my top hens, we had (spaghetti & sausage) we ate most heartedly. After lunch, they pay me back by pooping on my shirt and pants.
What is wrong with these things?
Doesn’t anyone have manners anymore?!!!

It's so cold outside, brrr. With crystal clear skies which makes it feel even colder, somehow. It's 23°F currently. When it's warm enough out, I don't close the pop door to the coop at night. I'll bet the girls are glad I closed it last night! I'm looking into getting a coop heater, since this winter is forecast to be a rough one, and they're all molting right now.
