Not sure what's going on, at the end of my rope...

If I figure out where they are hiding them thar eggs I'll let you know. Good luck on finding your stash, if there is one.

That happened to me too, ebonykawai. We had one hen go broody, and the whole coop stopped laying. Once the babies hatched, business as usual. I don't know if it has to do with dominant hens, or what, but it was very strange.

Hope laying picks up for you soon, and good luck with that broody. Some of them just won't break.

Wow, that is so weird!! I kind of think that's what's going on because there are just no eggs anywhere that I can find. My girls don't range that far because we have fencing, and I seriously searched everywhere.

How odd! I wonder why that happens???

Trying to figure out how to phrase this on a family friendly forum.

'k, ebony...do you have sisters? or did ya ever work with a bunch of female co-workers. Females housed together for a good long while tend to cycle together. Now that may or may not be why broodiness is contagious, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was.

I could see the broodiness being contagious, but it doesn't make a lot of sense for the others to just stop laying, but NOT be broody. Well, OK, it makes some sense, I guess, but....

I just haven't noticed many threads about this, so I wasn't prepared for it.
