not sure where to begin with this...

It's always difficult to tell from pictures but he red in the poo does look like blood rather than intestinal lining shed.
If she was my hen I would treat her for coccidiosis.
The dark green poo in the first set of pictures looks normal to me.
On a brighter note; I have a hen that walks backwards and cranes her neck in a similar fashion to what many might ascribe to wry neck. I've treated her with vitamin E plus plus B vitamins and it has made no difference. Apart form these occasional walking backwards bouts she is a fit and otherwise healthy hen. She lays eggs, has sat and hatched chicks and has no problems holding her position in the social hierarchy.
Also on a brighter note many chickens survive and can live normal lives despite having Mareks disease. Mareks is a but like the HIV virus in humans in that often the disease itself doesn't kill. Mareks will weaken the immune system and leave the chicken susceptible to falling ill with complaints that a chicken that doesn't carry the virus would easily recover from.

Hi everyone, so ive been giving her the vitamin e and b complex tablet and shes still got the electrolytes in her water. Im not able to watch her 24/7 so im not sure exactly how much of the water she is getting.
Shes perked up in now she talks quite loudly when i come in the room and has gone and pecked me when im putting my hand in now.
I still want to clean her bum up and try to trim the feathers on her good eye. Her eyesight still seems the same though. It takes her a good few times pecking before getting the treat.
Is there anything to i can to help her eyesight? any vitamins? The pupil in the good eye still seems bright (dark black) and open and nothing seems obviously wrong.
What i did notice yesterday though is these poos.....
Do these look normal to you or poos or because of Coccidiosis? should i be treating for this as well? She hasnt had poos with red bits since moving in the house and i cant tell from looking online if these are normal.
These all were there on the same day when i went in to see her in the morning.
Thanks again for your help.
Good idea about trimming up around the eye!
If her bottom is dirty, I'm sure she will enjoy a clean up as well:)

Having that much intestinal shedding in the poop is not normal.
If she were mine I would treat her with Corid, but it's always a good idea, if possible to take some samples of poop to have tested, there could be other causes, but it won't hurt to treat her.

Stop the vitamin B-Complex and electrolyte portion of your treatment while giving her the Corid, but I would continue with the Vitamin E.

I can't remember if you mentioned it or not, but if you are in the US you can find Corid at most feed stores like Tractor Supply, look in the cattle section. Corid comes in both liquid and powder.
In case you need dosing information here it is:
Use 1 1/2 teaspoons Corid powder or 2 teaspoons of 9.6% Corid liquid per gallon of drinking water. Give for 5-7 days - make sure this is the ONLY water available during that time period.

Are you located in the US or elsewhere? You can add your location to your profile which will help us when recommending medicines or products. If you are not in the US, you will want to get amprollium or amprol for treatment of coccidiosis. That looks like blood in the dropping.

One problem with Mareks is that it can cause a drop in white blood cells which may prevent her from fighting off common illnesses, such as coccidiosis or whatever is causing her eye drainage. We can only guess that her symptoms are caused by Mareks disease, because it is best diagnosed after death with a necropsy and testing. At her age, it can be common for symptoms to show.

Thank you for your help.

Im based in the uk, sorry ill update my profile now.

Im not able to get corid in the uk, i wish i could but a product i have found is coroxid- it says it treats pigeons but i have read of people using it for hens, does anyone have any experience of coxoid?

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Harkers-Co...ie=UTF8&qid=1547981725&sr=8-2&keywords=coxoid

Should i give her live yoghurt to help with her tummy at the same time or wait for the coxoid to hopefully work first?

also i cant get the coroxid straight away, its going to take a couple of days to be delivered. Is there anything i can give her in the meantime, natural or anything that is easily available to help until coroxid turns up?

thanks again.

Plain yogurt with cultures or buttermilk would be good for her intestines, just not too much yogurt. One of our members Dawg53 recommends cooked rice with a little buttermilk for diarrhea. You can get amprol from a vet sooner, but coxoid is amprollium and works well. It would be best to start it as soon as possible. Coxoid dosage differs from Corid and other brands of amprollium. The dosage recommended is 28 ml per 4.5 liters, or 1 ounce per gallon for 7 days. It can be reduced to half strength for 7 additional days for further treatment.

Thank you for your replies.

Here is an update and some more questions if thats ok...

She is still inside.
She eats when i put grapes, berries and corn in front of her.
Her poo no longer has red stuff and is no longer green but today it looks brown and runny not solid at all.
I have her on electrolytes in her water, 1/4 vitamin b tablet and 1 vitamin e tablet per day and i will be treating her with coxoid when it arrives.

I havent seen her drink from the container and i havent seen her eat from the feeder either as i havent been able to watch her 24/7 but any food treats or pellets i scatter on the floor when i come back have been eaten. So she still has her appetite.

She does not sit in the corner puffed up, when i go in she is chattering and walking around and she is more vocal than she first was when i hold her to saline wash her eyes.
The yellow scabs that were on the skin around her eyes have now all gone.
Ive also put ivermectin on her as well.

The next thing now is tonight after picking her up im not sure if it was the angle but the 'breast' bone or is it keel bone? the bone i touch when i hold her underneath her stomach and chest feels so pronounced it really scared me, she just felt like a skeleton but doesnt look it probably because of the feathers. I tried to weigh her using the kitchen scales, it was a bit awkward trying to balance her but something like 754g came up - 1.66 pounds. Ive just checked online and shes about half the weight she should be.
I feel so terrible, im not sure if it was her eyesight, being bottom of the pecking order and now with the diarrhea have cause this- ive never weighed her before so i dont have anything to compare to.

In herself she seems ok, other than the diarrhea. What can i do in the meantime to fatten her up? should i be giving her more corn? im concerned that means she wont be getting all the vitamins then. She really needs to be putting weight on quickly, there is no way she can go back in the coop like this, she will starve to death.

I feel so sorry for her she must be so lonely without the other chickens and with all the things happening to her i just want to give her a fighting chance.

What can i do to get her to put weight on? im hoping the coxoid will sort anything out with her tummy and Im going to give her yoghurt as well but what can i give her thats healthy but fattening?
thank you all again.

It is good that you got a base weight on her to now see how much she gains or loses. Can you bring in a friend for her? That might help to increase her appetite.

I would take some chicken crumbles and mix with water, a spoonful of yougurt, and a little raw egg. If the raw egg bothers you, some cooked egg is okay. Mix it together in a mash and offer it. Most chickens will eat cooked egg, canned tuna or salmon, chopped liver and meats. But try to get mostly chick feed into her. I would stop the corn, since it doesn’t have, but half the protein and few of the nutrients she needs.

Aw, she must feel tiny!!
When we are trying to help a chicken back from illness (trying to get their weight back up) it helps to remember the padding around their keel bone is muscle, not fat. So it is nutritional food that helps restore their original weight not fatty foods. So getting her back into eating her own nutritionally balanced food (with some healthy treats as suggested already) is the best way to rebuild anything she has lost.

As Eggcessive mentioned - Dawg53 on here recommends mixing buttermilk with plain boiled white rice in layer feed for a few days to stop diarrhea, this should not interfere with the coccidiosis treatment so you could start both!

Hi, thank you all for the good advice. Ive been giving probiotic yogurt to her now. When i went in to see her this morning her poos were solid and normal with the white on top so i thought we were getting somewhere but a couple of hours ago it was back to diarrhea.

I measured her water this morning, ive been giving 400ml so i can measure the electrolyte solution in it and when i measured what was left this morning it was 325 which meant on her own she only drunk 75ml :(
The last two days ive been syringing her with the water solution as well but yesterday she didnt let me do many of the syringes. So she probably had maybe 100ml of water if that.

The coxoid came this morning so im going to start that but im a bit worried as shes not drinking water on her own what is the best way to get the coxoid into her. Can i syringe it down her and if so what would i need to make up to make sure she gets a daily dose in her?

Also as someone said ill stop the vitamin b tablet while shes on the coxoid but should i stop the vitamin e tablet as well?

I will defintely try the buttermilk and rice suggestion though, thank you.

Thank you for the advice about the muscle on the keel as well, makes sense when you think about building her back up.
