not the breed it was supposed to be?!

I bought a black cochin hen last fall. Bantam.
So anyway, I bred her to my blue splash roo....I bred him and KNOW he is PB. Well, she hatched 4 beautiful chicks. they are about 2 weeks old now.....the blue is cute, looks sort of long backed same with one of the others. Ok, long backs I can handle, and they are chicks. Here's my problem. The other 2 black ones have very upright tails, and poufy-ish cheeks (look very much like d'uccles). AAAGH!!!!
So, I guess I need to get rid of this hen. The whole thing makes me MAD. so, I just wanted to share.

Have you pics. A black hen with a splash ought to give all blues. Beard & muffs are incompletely dominant though expression if the birds are 'split' for he gene is variable. Could a different bird be the father?

PB? Not a term I've seen before. I think we use too many abbreviations in general that are not widely understood. RIR and NH are pretty universally understood, but on this site I see BBS all the time, and it is not much used anywhere else. (That's one eample, there are many others.)

PB is pure bred, sorry. I only have1 black, and one blue cochin bantam for roos (well, I have an OEG but he is infertile and seperate anyway).
No pics right now, I let my sis borrow my digital for her vacation in Jamaica and she is gone for 2 weeks.

Lucky her, bad for me.

I don't think you can get bearded offspring when both parents show no signs of beards. Some blues are nearly as dark as black, so the black chicks could actually be dark blues.
