My pullet has lost a lot of her feathers due to aggressive mating. We got rid of the roosters responsible a couple of weeks ago and her feathers are starting to grow back. I know giving extra protein during feather growth is recommended.

I just don't know how often to do so or how much to give. I gave the 8 birds 5 scrambled eggs yesterday afternoon after they ate their feed, making sure Hei-Hei got as much as she wanted. Is that a good portion or too much/too little? And how often should I offer it to help with her feather growth?

Feathers are made of about 95% protein, and to encourage feather growth you will need to switch her to a high protein diet. Layer feed has a low protein count, so finding a feed that is at least 20% protein will help her grow them back quicker.

And I imagine it will be fine for the rest of the flock to have the higher protein feed?
