Not using the roost to sleep

City chickens: I'm facing the same problem. My ISA Browns sleep together in one nesting box. The chicken coop is a pre-fab one with a chicken run attached. They love the bamboo roost I installed for them in the chicken run. The roosts are in line and the same level as the nesting boxes. I'll have to raise the roosts and possibly block off the boxes for a few days. What if they are getting ready to lay eggs and there is not a nesting box? Their age is 22-23 weeks old.

Block the boxes in the afternoon, unblock after dark and everyone's' on the roost where they belong.
