Hardware cloth, well secured. Then we added 2"x 4" woven wire over the lower 4' of the run area too.
All stapled to the framing, then 1"x 4" boards screwed over it. A concrete foundation too.
This is the south wall of our 24'x 14' coop/ run combination. It's grown and improved over many years, and there are no (current) plans to add on or change anything. That birch tree has been trimmed!
