My husband has been very good at building the coop and making all the changes I want done. BUT, it wasn't always that way. In the beginning, I was researching and reading everything I could get my hands on. We both were raised on farms and we don't remember it being this hard.
He was upset that I was researching and we would argue all the time.... "You just slap together a coop and there you go! What is there to read about?" So I tell him, "Do you think that maybe man has advanced and things may have changed in the last 30 years since we were kids? Maybe, just maybe technology, breeding, feeding, and housing has come a long way in 30 years! And maybe as kids we didn't know what all it took to keep them alive!" He just stood there for a minute, then muttered "Ok, read all you want. I'll build what ever you want."
So I tell him what I need and he builds it, his way. And I don't care as long as it works, & gets the job done. But sometimes, I do still have to explain my reasons for wanting or needed things built or added.
