nothing dire, just have leg mites and want to know can i use neem oil?

I am going to use veg oil on their legs tonight but when I clean the pen wanted to know if I should use Neem oil, or just the clorox water everyone suggests. Clorox just seems so harsh to me, I know to dilute it, but wondered if anyone used neem and if it would hurt them.....

I haven't heard anything bad about neem oil, but I haven't personally used it either.

I pre-treated the roost with neem (used part of a dead tree) and was just searching for info on applying neem directly to birds for mites. I think my mom's chickens have more going on than just molting.

Anyone?
