I have been prepared for the new chicks for a couple of weeks. I am new to hatching, but I have been raising chickens for about a year and a half and the only one I have lost so far is the Rooster I had to rehome. It was a shame. He was a beautiful rooster. He stood 32" tall with his cockscomb, so he was a little intimidating.Do you have a Rooster who may be grabbing Hens Combs while on their backs? If so i'd show him the stew pot quick. They are there to protect.
Enjoy your hatch and coffee! No doubt you already have a med kit and Brooder, Chick Starter, probiotic and Electrolytes for water all set up. Take care of you!
