I have a very friendly chicken who likes to get picked up and held, she will jump into your lap if you let her. She is about 17 weeks old and hopefully will start laying soon. Today before I picked her up I was noticing how red her ear lobes were but when I picked her up for her usual attention soon her earlobes faded before my eyes until they had no redness left to them, took less than 2 minutes . Through out Noodle was calm and enjoying the attention so I don’t think it was stress. Has anyone else noticed this in their chickens?

Not really sure what you mean
Her Chicken normally has White Earlobes. Today when she went to pick up the bird, she saw the normally white Earlobes, were Red!
As she was holding and stroking the bird, the Chickens Earlobes faded from Red, back to White...
Any idea why this would happen?

I don't know, can Chickens BLUSH? She was so Excited to she Momma she went all Red in the Face.:love...JJ

Yeppers.
Skin around head, comb/wattles/ear lobes, can go from really red to pale again in minutes, with exertion and relaxation.
Can drive ya nuts with pullets close to onset of lay.
