So what have you all done to Opa while I was gone??????//////

He appears to be missing in action.

Week of July 8-14....

I had originally started keeping a note pad next to the computer, or near abouts, so I could grab it quick if I needed to jot something down for the weekly Run Down... HOWEVER, I also have a 6yr and 3 yr old. Need I say more? Didn't think so... SO, after spending a bit of time running through the last 50 odd pages... Here it is, in no particular order...

Prayers and well wishes are in continuous need this week for Farmerboy's family.

New people? A few.

KEYT! She still has a coop for sale, good looking thing too. Also she has 3 rabbits in need of new homes. Her and the BF are also tearing down a barn, so will be having more wood to build, and are looking into building outdoor poop boxes. I mean houses.

The ULTIMATE highlight of the week for me, I don't know about anyone else, was this... Olive admitted she knew nothing and also that she has warm, fuzzy feelings thanks to Mom2's chickie names. Mr. Olive and RaZ share a birthday.

Brethren has posted a link for Northern Chickenstock location voting. Link is on page 4850, very first post.

It was a week of firsts for some of our crew. Stacykins got her first duck egg, thought it was a chicken egg until she washed it. Now she knows, egg in the middle of the yard equals stupid duck not using nest box. Some do, some don't. The ones I gave to MommaK, they always did while I had them. Bianca got her first EE egg. She also inadvertently shared her trick for getting it. WHOOPEE! jrsckn is still egg-less at 17 weeks. And last but not least, babigyrl is an official member of the FART EGG CLAN! What a name for an egg... Fart egg. I would almost think they'd be bombs that the boys throw at the girls... Stink bombs.. NO! They are itty bitty eggs with no yolk. How is that a fart?

Silly and Tap finally came home from vacation. Tap's blind silkie Yeti passed away.

Raccoons still continue to be an exhausting nuisance, which led Jen to blow away a tree. She is saying it is because there was a raccoon in it, but I think she just didn't like the tree.

Moms foofoo, it made a full recovery. WOOHOO! Unfortunately the eggs in the bator were not as successful with the high heat. She did get a few uggos though. She also witnessed a fence peeper. Yup, Creepy neighbor.

Speaking of neighbors, RaZ's bi-polar neighbor decided he didn't like his other neighbors tomato plants either. Court is scheduled for July 17th. SO, Tuesday, we will be all eyes in anticipation of the outcome. Good Luck Randy!

Juise made some awesome wooden dolls for her mini kid. Pg 4862. They are so dang cute.

Juise also has lice. Well, not "HER", some of the chickens.

I made the ultimate AC post yet. Some people were lucky enough to read it before my edit. page 4863 if you really need to see it.

Sam has finally made a re-appearance. We all sure do notice when he is absent.

Totalcolour was hitting on RaZ, then telling him forget it, she's already married. Speaking of married, Snowflake has celebrated her 45th anniversary. Total dedication there. That or she has him by the short hairs and he knows what is best for him. I am going with the total dedication.

Farmerboy is trying to pass himself off as an adult. However, anyone who has seen this young man would know by looking at him that he's still in high school... OK, what ever he's using to avoid aging, I want some. I am too young for grey hair.

Olive's kids let the alpacas escape. Now Robin and Jaime are in cahoots to rid her of the alpacas. Robin for the alpacas and Jaime for the wool... is it wool when its from an alpaca? Either way, I want a blanket.

I found the hen load of eggs in my hosta. 22 eggs total. I candled them and floated them, all were good. YIPPEE! Of course, I ended up with close to 6 dozen eggs in the fridge. So, we had my sis's kids over and had breakfast for dinner. AND that did take nearly 2 dozen eggs, with the french toast, scrambled eggs and sausages.

OK... I think this is it for the most part. Yup. Of course, if you need a more detailed run down... I am just not in the mood. HEHE

Thanks for posting this Nova...There is just no way I can keep up on the Michigan thread, but as long as this doesn't get too out of hand, at least I can keep semi-connected to everybody through your color commentary on the goings on there!

ALL RIGHT! I am getting to it.

July 15-22

There is a lot of reading to do, but if you find you have the time, this week has some good BS-ing, and generally good conversation that is enjoyable to read. Starting at page 4913...

Welcome to the new comers. It is as Opa says, very nice to see the numbers of people who join our little community on the MI thread and actually stick around for more than a few posts, even if they do not say very much, but do show up to catch up/keep up. LOL. I prefer the keep up method.

It has been a very busy week this week! Some fun, some sad, some just straight up tick you off, some make you pee your pants laughing. Or maybe that was just me.

Olive has been busy. She has also made another great confession. Her brain is not functioning well, and coherent thoughts are escaping her. HIGH LIGHT!

Farmerboy had a sad loss on his farm. Porkie Chop died from birthing related complications. Lost her and all her babies. She was just too small and too young and just not built right for it. His cow Belle also had developed mastitis. Hope she has made a good recovery.

Mom did not hatch out the proper Uggos to be able to foist any off on Olive. Olive in return, has stopped stress sweating over it. Come on now... Its just some funky feathers! You really do need some.

Sam's tomato garden is going to be used as a future modeling project. Creating edible hedge rows.

RBahmer is 21 again. Boy.. to legally have that first drink. Again.

I am thinking, we need a personal MI buy-sell-trade-want thread. We may find people closer to us this way that want or need things that WE BYC people are willing to trade/give to other MI BYC members over some other random stranger. People in Illinois and Ohio borderlands may even find this to their advantage as well.

A few members have had a few chick complications/illnesses, and ultimate losses.

I have fleas.

Literally. I am willing to share them with anyone who is interested. Several good ideas and tricks were shared to help kill these nasty little pests. Night lights with shallow dishes of water with dawn dish soap, for night time flea spa parties. Borax powdered carpets, kills/drys out eggs, larvae, pupa, and adult fleas. Dawn dish soap baths, Meijers brand of head and shoulders/pert.

Juise is missing again.

jrsckn lives in a weed free town. You can have weed there, just not in the lawn.

Stacykins preformed her first ever chick head surgery. Stitched fresh hatched chicks head back together after it was pecked by a bigger chicken. She's also set 30 Araucana eggs in the bator. SO, raid on her brooder in 15 days from today.

There has been discussion of hay costs. The best advice at the moment, find the cheapest place and stock up above and beyond. I think this advice should also be heeded for stocking up on chicken feed. Store feed in a dry location as well.

Keyt had a standoff/hostage situation not far down the road from her. All ended well though. So, what was the reason behind it? Did you ever find out?

My SS is not an SS.

And RaZ, we can not forget RaZ. He has a stalker so bad that they come to our little thread and print out evidence against him. So sad. And he got a movie roll for Sebastian. If you'd like details on the hearing, send a PM to him. There is the general consensus that we need to form a mob and address the jerks who threatened his mother. We'll make it look like a party. We'll be the chicken defenders.

IMAGE OF THE WEEK... goes along with previous statement.

I have not done this weeks run down. Had a pretty busy week with things going on here. SO, I am not prepared for it. If you really need it this week, please let me know, and I will get it done for you. Thanks.

July 29-Aug 4

As usual, welcome to the new members of the thread. There were not many this week, oh, well there were none, but there were last week, so welcome to those.

RBahmer is adding mice to her menagerie. I would have thought birds were plenty, but she's decided that mice may enhance her poultry keeping experience. It's that, or she's got designs on taking over the world by harvesting and engineering the next bubonic plague outbreak.

The Ugly Pic of the week has to go to this... Thing... Go Mom2, you've out done yourself this time. LOL.

BobBry finally got some eggs for his broody. Yeah, future chicks! And the circle continues in another backyard. Panda's hatch did not happen, however, she's (you are a girl?) gotten new eggs that should work this time.

Several of our members went on some serious vacation this week. I personally do not know how biking around is vacation... To each his own. Now... cycling around, as in MOTOR, that's vacation. Bianca went to Petoskey, Chickflick was in Traverse, did you guys meet up? And Stacykins idea of a vacation is to have a power failure. Speaking of those, we had one also. I need to figure out how to hook up my generator so I have water regardless of a power outage. Really sucked running down to Meijer on Tuesday to get several gallons of water for the birds.

There has been some discussion about the usage of what we post being used against us in a court of law as evidence, and whether or not that violates copyright, use with out permission, or even eavesdropping... Interesting thoughts and opinions on this.

Prettiest Pic of the Week...

Stacykins is on her way to becoming a TSA employee, and real employment. WOOT! Lets all keep our fingers crossed that the process to being hired continues in the right direction.

Farmerboy is MIA lately. Prayers are also kindly continued for his family.

RaZ has normal neighbors! Well, at least one set of normal neighbors.

There has been discussion again on bio-security, some of the conversation became inflammatory... We can all try harder in the future to not hit submit until we've edited several times to avoid giving un-due offense.

We've had a few bird losses this week also...

Coons, heat and illness...

Wynette dropped in to

. Yup... that was it...

mrshaggie is contemplating the ramifications of putting her kids out on a roadside stand for sale or duct taping them. I vote for the duct tape. ONLY because duct tape comes in such fun colors.

Prayers go out to glambka and... Oh, another of our frequent friends... I can't find where I wrote the name down... BUT, Thank you for your families' service to our great nation, and very sorry for your losses.

Prayers also for our friends whose brothers have cancer and are working towards a remission.

OK... That's it. Lot of chit chatting this week. That is one of the nice things about this thread. In a weird way, though most of us have not met any one, or have only met once, this is like a little family. We laugh, we talk, we fight, we make up, we move on, we'll do it all over again. I think, this makes us REAL.

Have a great week all.

Edited to ad, because I just realised I forgot.... Mom2 now has a spare room, mattress really, with a privacy fence. You will have to put up with the neighbors dog trying to share it, but, it conveniently keeps the rabbits out. Or in...
