But, Peppermint Patty wouldn't pull the football from Charlie Brown, she would let him kick it, it was Lucy.

Oh, crud- you're right!! Nasty, mean Lucy! How could I make that mistake??

Well Bil, unfortunately I don't know what's going on with your eggs.

I haven't heard from your swapper yet. However, there are some eggs going out, so here's the list:

farrier!
CountryPantry (on Monday)
BirdMom (on Monday)

Hopefully I'll hear from your partner soon, Bil

ETA: ChooksChick, is there any change on the DC# info I sent you?

No...I even called the PO where they were brought in, where the guy knew our sender and told me they were brought in Monday, and that they should have been scanned in the next city (I can't remember where he told me it'd be) and that Priority packages aren't necessarily scanned at every step on the way. My carrier and I had a long talk and she said they'll have to investigate Monday. I called the 800 number for the national PO and they won't investigate until Monday, because of the # of postal business days involved...so I'm just waiting until Monday...the eggs will be rotten before I see them!

Monday was the 23rd, your swapper said she sent them on Saturday, the 21st. Either way, the DC# info said it was received on the 24th, so they weren't even done until Tuesday. I really hope they don't take too awful long to get to you, that's just ridiculous!!

oohh no... lost eggies??? that's no good...
they're scared and lonely and cold.....
the need cookies and a warm incubator...
okay.. maybe i need cookies.. and they need the incubator.. but... hey, think they need margaritas??

seriously though that sucks... there's nothing that can be done to replace those eggs at the PO's expense either is there??
it's not the senders fault.. and it's not the receiver's fault....
*makes threatening gestures at the post office*

Not really, that's what insurance is for, but they very rarely lose or seriously damage a package, it wouldn't be worth it to insure them. The package would need to be lost, crushed, or otherwise impaled, in order for the P.O. to comp for them.

Quote:
The post office will not let you insure eggs - they might sell you the insurance but when it comes time to collect they will show you that eggs are not insurable.

They will insure them, but the only way they'll comp you for them is if the package is lost or seriously damaged. If the outside is perfect, yet the box is oozing goo, oh well, not their problem. But it so seldom happens that it's just not worth it.
