OH NO! I am sorry~ That is a bummer when it happens! My designer eggs weren't even fertile and i was super bummed.

It's not your fault, the eggs you sent were great! -shipping is hard on all eggs. I must have done something wrong with them. I have too many ducklings to be taking care of this winter already but I do my best to hatch out every egg. I haven't done very good lately hatching in an incubator, but I did have a call duck hatch out 8 of 9 of her own eggs.

Just remember folks, especially with shipped eggs, not developing is not the same as not fertile. Eggs that get scrambled, too hot, too cold etc, can be fertile, but not develop.

yeah... i cracked my duds open to check if they had started to develop at all, and nothing... i wouldn't say they were not fertile, i just chalk it up to gorilla scrambling.... poor babies never had a chance... darn gorillas....

so is it january yet??? lol....
my green layer is still not playing nice so i doubt i'll join in january either...

Dang that is the worst!!! But it goes with the chances of shipping and we all know that can happen!!! if only there was a magic fluff fairy who surrounded each egg from the gorilla's! LOL

I think the eggs were not so fresh and they were in the egg carton pointy side up. I dont know if that would have given a bad hatch but she was bummed . I hope my birds start layin soon so I can be in the Jan. swap.(if there is one)

The 2 mystery eggs were black cochins. I hatched 6 of 6 eggs from these 2 weeks ago, so they should have been fertile. The trip was probably really rough on them, I believe. I'm glad you had some of them to hatch at least. Fat chicks that have trouble pipping sounds like it could have been a humidity issue. Good luck with your babies!

Just turned the eggs for the last time tonight. They are now on LOCKDOWN!!!

I had one that clearly wasn't developing. 2 that I can't quite tell but no cracks or anything so I'm just going to leave them. The rest look like they are developing.

WOO HOO!!! Almost there!
