November Hatch-A-Long (2014)

Question, how long did it take for everyone's humidity to get up to 60-65? I locked down a little early tonight so I had time to adjust it as needed before final lock down late tonight. I couldn't get humidity up past 52% so I added another bowl of water with a towel in it, still not over 53% so, I moved first bowl under thermostat that the fan is blowing onto and covered the hole behind the thermostat I use for adjusting it. Within 30 minutes it went up to 66% and I had a lot of condensation on the top window so took out the 2nd bowl to see what happens. Whew. My old incubator didn't have a fan and I don't remember it taking so long to get the percentage up and stable.

Amylynn, that is a beautiful baby! I had a malposition in a hatch once, she hatched just fine just took a little longer, I pray that's what happens for you.
Thank you, we now have 5 healthy chicks fluffing up and my maleposition who is out and hopefully gaining strength.

He's moving around. I have 3 more that I know have pipped so far.

I put sponges in mine to hold the humidity better.

With the one bowl It's been pretty stable at 61%. I'd rather have 65 but I can be somewhat content with where it's at.

Yay on the baby making it out! So many baby's and half the time I don't say anything because I've spent so much time looking at pictures I have to step away from the 'puter and do stuff like cook dinner and what not, LOL.

@AmyLynn2374 really helped me have the confidence to break into a second egg. She's so awesome. :)

My second egg is doing great, just pipped his head right out of that egg after a bit of clearing away shell and membranes. No veins, no bleeding. He looks great!

We helped each other!!!! Glad he's doing good!!!
SHE was still stuck so I opened a bit more membrane and she just bounced right out.

Unfortunately my webcam lens is really blurry and out of focus so the friends I'm sharing it with can't see much. :( But it did all get broadcasted so I'm happy.

My incubator is having humidity trouble as well. I added hot water to the tray and the humidity was at 70%. Couple hours later it was back down to 50%. I added a towel with water and will check again in a half hour. Both plugs are out so I think the humid air is escaping.

LOL.... OK, I'm glad SHE is doing well.
