November Hatch -- Who's going to have late fall babies?

I have a SEBRIGHT of all things that decided she needed to go broody three weeks ago on a RIR egg that she stole...... Come to find out, during her first week or so broody she had continued stealing eggs from the nest box next to her tisk... tisk.
I noticed her little case of kleptomania when I looked in one day and she was completely flattened like a pancake trying to cover 9 RIR eggs. I had wondered where the egg production suddenly went......

I let her keep the two of them that were fertile. Of course they were at different stages of incubation by at least a week, fabulous.... Well, the first one just hatched out tonight so I put it in the brooder box. I'm hoping she stays setting for another week to hatch out the other, I really DON'T want to fire up the bator!

Heres a pic of the little ooops, its a RIR x Silkie
I just let my Blue silkie Rooster run around with my layers cause we usually just eat the eggs. Dern It! Now that I know what kind of adorableness they eventually become, I may stop eating the eggs

All my wee quail babies are doing great this morning! You'd never know that some of them had a rougher start!

Okay, I GOTTA show off the call duck hatchlings! FOUR out of FIVE eggs hatched!

They are SO small! They're on that shelf liner stuff, and that's one of the small tubs for 50 mealworms I've used as their waterer (with the slice cut in the lid).

But here they are in a closer shot.

Out of 14 eggs I've had 6 chicks hatch, 1 still in the incubator and 7 clear eggs (which shouldn't have gone into lockdown). The one still in the incubator is dark inside, but hasn't pipped yet, so we'll just wait and see for a couple more days since today is only day 23. These are all EEs that have hatched and I have three black and three yellow. My roo is a BW AMeraucana and the girls could be any of the following: BR, BSL, NHR, or RIR.

awesome!!!

Mine technically went into "lockdown" last night was their final turn, but I know from experience that I'm not gonna get the humidity up unless I get a couple of wet sponges in there. I'm gonna hit up WalMart later tonight (after the crowds thin a bit) for fresh sponges. I always buy new ones so they aren't germy and I forgot to get them earlier this week.

Lovin the pix you guys! Can't wait till I get my fuzzy butt fix!

I've got 60 something in the hatcher right now that started hatching today.

they will be Dominique, BBS rosecombs, cuckoo rosecombs, buff silkies, BBS silkies, and a bantam cochin or two. today is actually day 20 so the real hatching action should commence tomorrow. Yay! Hatching NEVER gets old. it's only when they start putting away 200lbs of starter a week, that i regret my decision. LOL. maybe they wont eat as much as ducklings.
