Three days ago, I separated my hen from her flock bc she’s had a couple days of completely liquid, bright yellow diarrhea, with some red blobs. I knew which hen was ill bc the feathers below her vent were saturated with the same yellow diarrhea. (When I got her at 6mo old, she was our family’s first hen, so we’re still relatively new to chicken keeping.)
Since being separated in her own space, she continues to be lethargic, little appetite and droopy. I have her regular food & electrolyte water available. Plus yesterday I offered a bit of mashed, boiled egg & banana. She nibbles a bit, but not much. Mostly sits around. Now she is also breathing with great effort.
My other 6 hens (+ rooster, all Australorp) are laying since January and healthy (fingers crossed!), but my sick hen hasn’t laid at all this year.
Please, I’d appreciate advice on how to help my sick hen get better and what the problem is. Can anyone help? Thanks so much.
(Note: The other regular poos on the pictures are from different chickens.)
