Now I have a Duck and Chickens..need help with the Duck

I "rescued" a duck who is currently hanging out with the chicks! He was hand raised, and is 4 months old. He'll follow me around the yard, and is usually sweet. Sometimes he walks up to me, quacking loudly, and he'll lay down...does that mean he wants to be rubbed?? How do you rub a duck?? Where do they like to be scratched, or petted???

my duck does that also!!!,,she like lays down for me when i pet her!!..

..i wonder if it means they are getting ready to lay?..someone one here will help us out..lol..Wendy

My ducklings lay down all the time when feeding with their momma.
If it lays down by you go ahead and pet it! I pet mine on the head, or back between the wings.
My male Muscovy,Paddle, even nips me if I don't pay him enough attention when he greats me!!! He only wants me to touch him, and only when he wants to be touched! He walks away when he is not in the mood, or if anyone else tries to pet him!
The more you pet the more it will get used to being handled.
