Now I'm Scared...

All good doggy moms know the difference between their dog's goofy barks and that "big boy" or "big girl" bark that means something is out there. The important part is whether it still is out there and is it really worth worrying about anymore? Diesel will tell you--trust him.

I've actually learned to listen to my dogs. This summer my female Saint kept going off at the late night/ early morning hours.(this happend several times).We just thought she was being a pest..wanting to go potty or whatever..i would wake up and scold her and tell her to "HUSH!" And "go lay down" and the whole time she was standing up alert to something..
well..later on i found out that she was hearing the neighbor (teen) kids sneaking home late at night.

..So, she was hearing something different outside our house and she was alerting us..
Now i listen when she barks at night. I was very proud of her!

My dog did this one night when I was living on my own in college. He was looking toward the doggy door and doing this mean growling bark. It's not a sensation I enjoyed. The first thing you do is notice how many windows there are. In a SUNROOM,

I hid in the hallway and called 911. I had my .38 pointed at the end of the hallway till the cops got there, but I was VERY scared. I can't imagine how I would have felt if I hadn't had that with me. The cops found only footprints.

I have since moved out of the sunroom and into the bedroom with my laptop, my cell phone, my K38, my trusty Diesel Dog, the cat, a maglight, a bottle of water, and a box of ammunition in case I have to unload the revolver.

For God's sake, if you do need to call 911, make sure to give them you address first! Stupid cellphones!

Isn't it funny how much better you feel with a whole box of ammo, as if it would come to that! Like you'll be Rambo...
