Now someone complains. UPDATE PAGE 2

I'm glad you will get to keep your birds. If we had people like that around where I live I wouldn't do so well. Luckily for us we are surrounded on all sides by our fields. Is there some way to find out who called you in? Maybe there is a way to talk some sense into them.

I wish but since the gals boss just got chickens this year I am not to worried just move the coop and make a tunnel or hallway and they will be set. just sucks, I know its because of the rooster but moving the coop won't help he will be in the pen crowing in the mornings still don't have to move pen just the coop lol that should teach them to call on me.

well spent the weekend moving the new coop and did get another wall done next weekend the whole thing should be done and the girls will have their new coop then just need to make walkway from coop to pen should not be to much work just more expensive with the extra wire but it will be okay since I get to keep my chickens. they were checking out the new coop and under it just to make sure it was built to their specifications I love chickens who ever said chickens don't have personality has never owned a chicken. I am even turning my daughter into a crazy chicken lady lol.

Yeah, you think it's funny that the chickens were inspecting the coop.... Just wait till they hand you their report demanding a dedicated 220v circuit to the jacuzzi's pump and heater, a newer Energy-Star winecooler, geothermal heating/cooling, and a fitness gym to help them keep their henly figures!!! Yeah....you think it's funny, just wait! ....and down the road....demanding a specific vintage of imported BOS, litter of the correct texture and smell in the nestboxes, dictating their choice of pastel colors for the interior of the coop. It never ends...then there's the squabbles over who gets the window seat on the roost, who's first in line for a mealworm, someone says someone's butt isn't very fluffy,....<sigh>

yea well right now my rooster is crowing for the girls morning scratch and he won't stop until I bring it out even if its raining I am waiting because the are getting new nest boxes there will be 4 and I know they will fight over one. and they are already upset that I fenced off their dirt bathing area (my garden) i am still hearing about that. they sure do have their own opinions about things for sure and I am not sure they like all my ideas but oh well I would not give up my girls for the world they are great and my bantam rooster is so funny I can't believe that it took me a year to get a rooster and I am so glad that I did. even if he is just as demanding as the girls lol.

Maybe AC will tell you who called.I would really want to know so I do give eggs to that person. I probably don't meet our distance rules either.Ours is 150 feet. As for the noise.Well my dogs are outside and locked up at night and one started barking at 4am today.I'll take a rooster over the barking dog!

I know who called and I am not going to give them any eggs they would just throw them away they are not the nicest people and if they would have come talk to me I would have been happy to try and get my rooster to not crow so early but everyone in this neighborhood is up at at around 5 am due to work and such its funny my son's room is right under the chickens and he does not hear my rooster so he;s not that loud he has been crowing and trying to mate with the girls alot he is only 4 months old so he has those hormones going but he never tries and attack any of the humans not even the little grand daughter he runs which is great so I am keeping him and will just keep my mouth shut and offer the other neighbor eggs and stuff from the garden maybe they will come around we shall see. but I own my home they rent so like I say you don't like it move I am done being super nice to mean people I am just done with stupid people starting trouble.

be careful some places allow roosters but still have noise ordinances and at that point they don,t care if it is a rooster or a harley with loud pipes

Good for you! Check your yard though..Some spiteful people will toss in poison.

yea I have checked the yard each morning and I have been letting my dog stay out with the chickens he won't allow anyone near the fence he thinks he is a guard rooster. its funny but he does not hurt the chickens so its safe. I hate the fact that I have to live like this I need to find a farm so badly but right now does not seem like the time thanks for all the understanding I have gotten on here.
