Absolutely. Never touch pinfeathers unless absolutely necessary, they are very sensitive. No cuddles with molting birds! The poor dears, aren't you glad you're not a chicken?

Yes, they are sensitive for sure.....they can also bleed like crazy if one is broken. Why they are also called 'blood feathers. If one does ever break and keep bleeding, use a hemostat or pliers to fully pluck it out, bleeding will stop almost immediately and new feather will start to grow within a week.

Thank you @aart and @VictoriaTemple! I figured it must hurt, definitely looks painful. Luckily we were only handling if necessary, and I didn't have any bleeders!
