And I’m definitely a “I call do over” kinda gal!Exactly... So we compromise with the lesser of 2 evils. If that don't work...you can always call do-overs.

Weed fabric, window screen?Thank you!!! I’ll definitely look and see if I can find it!
I have plenty of netting left over. I could double up. And I will if I have to..have you ever used netting? It tangles to the point I thought I was going to explode with frustration. My husband was cussing, I was at the point of tears and my little roo was screaming at both of us. I swear it’s a riot over here 99% of the time.Weed fabric, window screen?
How much netting left over, run a second layer but offset the holes to be tighter?
Early on when I lived in WV. I bought a roll of 7' x 100' deer netting to keep the birds from passing thru the neighbors barb wire fence for his cows.I have plenty of netting left over. Ooo what a great idea. Before I found out about chicken wire keeps chickens in, not predators out, I bought tons of it. I can start on that today. Wonder why I didn’t use it as a top to begin with?? It won’t keep a raccoon out, but neither will the netting. And my main coop isn’t accessible through the yard. Thank you!!Don't use that type of netting. We have had problems with people using similar for crop protection.
If your chicken run is built well enough you may find using a lighweight chicken wire solves the problem. It's not hard to put up even if one has to place a couple of support posts in the middle of the run.
I make these for crop protection.

So you do have a slight idea about the horror of netting. It’s a divorce or stroke waiting to happen lol.Early on when I lived in WV. I bought a roll of 7' x 100' deer netting to keep the birds from passing thru the neighbors barb wire fence for his cows.
I got the brilliant idea to cut it in half at 3'6" to get me 200'. The fiasco ended with me using my saw to make the cut quick, which melted the plastic as it was cutting it.
One end of each roll was melted together.
So, long story...longer.
What was suppose to be a "I'll just unroll it and hook it on to the barb wire, it'll be a fun day" turned into an all day ...fest.
You didn't mention anything about raccoons.Ooo what a great idea. Before I found out about chicken wire keeps chickens in, not predators out, I bought tons of it. I can start on that today. Nope, doesn’t keep rats out. Ask me how I know…You didn't mention anything about raccoons.
No, it wont keep raccoons out. It only just keeps rats out. If properly put up so far it's kept foxes out for those people I know who have tried it. It does keep birds out thought without the risk of them getting caught in the mesh
