Now When Do Those Hatch? Oh Dang!!

Do Yourself A Favor.... Use A Real Incubator Thermostat Control Unit Of Some Sort.... Yes In A Rare Case Folks Get The Water Heater Themostats To Work For Them, But Most Dont Or They Fluctuate Way Too Much... Its Not Worth The Hastle Imo.... Just Cut To The Chase, Pony Up The Extra Few Dollars And Buy A New Replacement Contol Unit From Gqf Directly Or Ebay Or Whoever

LOOKS LIKE MONEY WASTED... TRIED 1 ITS SOME SORT OF COMMERCIAL WATER HEATER TYPE THERMO... I STICK WITH THE GQF WAFERS... THEY'RE READILY AVAILABLE AND RELIABLE... PARTS ARE EASY TO GET AND ITS SIMPLE TO INSTALL--- AS FAR AS SEPERATE COMPARTMENTS? NO EACH WOULD NEED ITS OWN HEAT AND CONTROL UNITS... LOOK AT THE LINKS I POSTED AND SEE IF YOU CAN FIGURE OUT A DESIGN LIKE THAT? OR EVEN BUY 1 OF HIS INSTRUCTION KITS FOR 5 BUCKS... THEY'RE VERY NICE UNITS. I AM GETTING READY TO FIRE UP THE SHOP AND BUILD SOME HERE. THE DESIGN CAN BE MODIFIED TO ADD OR REMOVE OPTIONS LIKE SETTING VS HATCHING TRAYS ETC... I'M THINKING 1 HATCHER AND 2 BATORS

BUT MINE ARE GOING TO BE A TAD BIGGER...

LOOK AT THE BASIC DESIGN HE CREATED... ITS BEAUTIFULLY SIMPLE. MOST PARTS ARE READILY AVAILABLE IN YOUR LOCAL STORES.... HOME DEPOT WILL HAVE ALL THE BASIC CARPENTRY/ FASTENER/ ELECTRICAL SUPPLIES, WALMART THE FANS AND HUMIDITY/ HATCHING TRAYS... EBAY THE TURNERS, HEATING ELEMENT AND THERMO CONTROL DEVICES... OR ORDER DIRECTLY FROM GQF. YOU KNOW AS WELL AS I DO IF YOU ONLY MAKE A 2 SHELF UNIT YOU'LL HATE YOURSELF FOR IT LATER... AT LEAST I WOULD

MIGHT AS WELL GO BIG AND DO IT RIGHT SO YOU WONT OUTGROW IT EASILY.

I tried the water heater thermo and never could get it closer than 6 deg. The link to the ebay wafer is the exact one I bought, even the same seller. It works well so far. I have pix of my thermometer showing the temp of 100. 24 hr low of 100. 24 hr high of 100. That was the on first and only run while actually hatching.

The link of the heating element... how would that be wired? Is there a resistor or you just feed it 110 from the thermostat?

Feed It From The Thermostat. Fans Wire In Directly Ahead Of The Thermostat So They Work Continuosly Also Any Lights You Desire. Tho Either Fans Or Lights Or Both May Be "switched" If You Choose To Do So.

I am making a parts list today, and tomorrow I'm having an incubator rasing. I'm gonna invite the 3 coturnix chicks that just hatched and my game banny hen. It shouldn't take us much more than an hour to get everything ready for the electrical stuff.
