I am interested in finding NPIP Chicken breeders. Also would like some recommendations for someone new to chickens as to which breed is the most friendly and also good egg layers. Thank you.

Hello and welcome!
There's a wealth of information and articles for finding the right fit for you. And good for you for posting on the forums, there's a lot of people who will help as well. I suggest you check "where am I, where are you" forum, you can find your state or region thread. People in your area may have a suggestion for a breeder or hatchery.
By the way, where are you located?

If you haven't already, I suggest going there and introducing yourself. I think they'll be most helpful in preparing for and trying to find chickens for you. A lot of times you can get great chickens from other byc members, even if they're not NPiP. in your region it may be quite a challenge, there'll be people on there who are experienced.
