I WI its expensive to be NPIP, but there is something called WI Certified that is the same as NPIP but is free other than the testing. and with that you can become certified every 2 years and test your own.

Andy, any word on your testing date? I talked to the inspector today in reference to my testing date and he asked me how many animals I have and I told him. In addition to my chickens, he said that he will have to test my ducks, geese, turkeys and peafowl. He said that he will have to test about 100 total and then only 10% each year thereafter. I laughed and told him that he would be visiting me all day and did he want me to prepare lunch for him.
I will be taking off all day long for this. I will have to keep all of the animals in the chicken coops and houses to make it easier. I hope it's a nice day out on that day.

I see what you mean about the chicken people, but still you would think it would be better for selling your birds if people can actually walk around and check out your pens to pick out what they want? That is always my favorite part when going to get or look at peafowl.

Being NPIP you are still allowed visitor on your property I been npip for years and still have people come by all the time to look and buy birds. I don't allow any one inside my pens. I know alot of npip breeders that allows visitor.

well, you do take a risk by having people over , that could carry some thing to your flock with out even Knowing , I guess it would have to be one of those personal choices
