So funny. I see this is an old thread that has had recent activity. I found it when I did a search on the words "sultan" and "broody".

My Sultan may be some kind of sister of yours since I also got her at Atwoods during chick days in Spring 2011. And, I think she may be broody. She is the hen I thought was least likely to broody but she's been sitting all day and the only time I've seen her off the nest was when she was kicked off by another hen. She made a huge fuss until that hen got done laying and then she resumed her place. The only thing is, I don't have any fertile eggs so I'll have to acquire some for her if she seems serious after a few days. You said yours is sitting on one egg - how many do you think she would be capable of sitting on? Since I'm going to have to acquire eggs from elsewhere, I want to put several under her to increase the odds one of them will hatch, but she is so tiny I'm sure she can't sit on that many.

Well when they are broody they fluff up quite a bit. I would guess 3 or 4 eggs would be a good fit. My sweet Nugget only has the one egg because her broodiness came upon suddenly and there was only one to give her. I candled it 2 days ago and it is developing well so we shall see in a few weeks.
Her coop mate has already hatched her egg and Mama and baby are doing great. She is a little Mille Fleur D'uccle. I wish I had had more eggs to give them but they went broody and stopped laying so suddenly..... oh well

Good grief I am in love
