Regardless of which hatchery you use, you may very often be getting the same birds from teh same source. So, I recommend choosing one as close to you as possible, as time in transit has a far greater effect on your bird's health than anything else.

Retail, online hatcheries are just that, hatcheries. They don't breed and get their eggs from 3rd parties. They are just clearing houses who ship the day olds.

I only have used Ideal and I am very happy with the birds and their service. At some point I want to try Cackle as they have OEG Std(game fowl) which Ideal does not.

I have ordered from welp all year with groups of 75 meat birds at a time and i ordered 2 groups of layers (150 per group) and only lost 5.My bad hatchery storie is Cackle Hatchery, I ordered 30 turkeys, for thanks giving and only 1 was alive a month before Thanksgiving and i ordered then in Junethe only one that was living on Thanksgiving day died like a week before christmas and looked like it was only 2-3 pounds.

i've ordered from murray mcmurray several times, only once did we have a problem with dead and dying chicks, they refunded the money, i ordered from meyer hatchery in oh they were ok but it's hard to get what you want there, i ordered from belt hatchery nothing to jump up and down about, but my best:D order ever was from ideal, everyone was happy and healthy when i opened the box, they gave me extra ee hens, i'm ordering from them again in feb, has anyone dealt with schlet hatchery for broilers, they are the cheapest so far that i've seen
