Nurture right 360 questions

well I went to set up my NR360 today and took it out of the box, I had opened it before and looked at it and took out the directions but didn't fully take it out of the box, and the heating part at the top was hanging down. Thought it was odd but figured maybe it just popped up there or something. Open it all the way and there are screws missing. I saw one in the bottom so when I went to get it I could hear the other 2 in there as well. tipped it and some tiny broken pieces of plastic came out too. Figured maybe I could just screw the screws back in and at least plug it in to see if it worked. The first screw I tried wouldn't screw in. :( So I need to return it. I ordered a new one but it won't be here until Sun-Wed. Praying for Sun as my goal was to get it running and set eggs Wed morning. I have chicks coming April 15/16 so wanted these ones to hatch around the 13/14 so they will all be about the same age and I can brood them in the house together for a couple days then put them in the coop brooder. PRAYING it doesn't come on Wed since that will mess up my plans and they won't hatch until the 15/16. I may only have 1 MHP (trying for 2 but need to find where I stored my other heating pad) so can't separate them and I promised my daughter they would be out of her room by April 19. So it may still work out if they hatch the 16 as they would have a couple days inside but not as many as I would like before they go to the coop brooder.

Great thread you got here. Been looking into the NR360 myself and I had very similar questions that were answered! So, thanks everyone!!
I am also wondering about house temp. Right now it seems to be fine but very soon where I live (desert) it will be in the 90's all day and after that it will be in the 100's (late summer)!!! Does the Nurture Right 360 do well in extreme heat like this, as in keeping the temp LOWER than if it's outside atmosphere is over 100 degrees? Will it do okay in 90's outside temp??
I do not believe it has a cooling element. It can only be as cool as the ambient temps i think.

We are about to place ours on Monday I am wondering since it comes at a set temp of 99.5 if you all think that is correct since it only goes in increments of .5 has anyone raised that temp manually and how did the hatch rate go for you? I am thinking 100 might be better?

I haven't hatched with mine, but you can easily change the temperature. I think that 99.5 is generally the recommended temperature for hatching eggs, but I could be wrong.

we just got bought this one and our other one is set at 37.9c at 55%. It’s only our second time n last hatching we only got less than a 50% eggs were shipping to us tho ….. we also actually have a silky that is broody with 6 from our little farm! We’re so excited ! Glad this fathers did here thank you for your response.

I haven't set mine yet (since it arrived broken) but from reading you can change it but 99.5 is recommended for chickens which is why it is preset at what it is since that is what is recommended for chickens. I know a friend used it for ducks and changed it since they use a different temp I believe.

another question. I set up the incubator today about 4 hrs ago I think? and put in water into side A like it said. the temp is 99.5 (I have a few other thermometer/hygrometers in there as well and besides 1 that for some reason the other 2 say the same). but the humidity is hanging around 44%. there are no eggs in there yet going to put them in around 2pm tomorrow afternoon. is the 44% too low? how can I get it up? the other ones say right around the same give or take 1%
