Nurture Right 360 Temp Gauge not accurate

Hello, I'm preparing to incubate a set of chicks. In prep I tested my new Harris Farms Nurture Right 360 incubator. The digital thermometer reads 99.5 degrees F while my own thermometer inside reads well over 102 degrees. I tried even manually lowering the temp to 98 in the hopes to level it out but it still is above 100 degrees. Is there something I can do or should I return it and buy a different one? Should I get a different brand?

Is your thermometer calibrated and it is definitely the incubator that reads off? The below message is assuming you have an accurate trustworthy thermometer that has been tested already. :)

I really like the Nurture Right 360 myself. I have two and they have been very reliable. Both are very close to accurate with temperature, the new one I just bought reads humidity a little too low but it's an easy work around since I know how much it is off by.

If the temperature reading off is too bothersome exchanging it could definitely be an option. From my experience this type of incubator really is a good one that is very reasonably priced for its quality so hopefully the next one you pick up would have a more accurate readout. I think the temperature readout being a little off is pretty common with a lot of incubator brands, it's good you tested yours first as it sounds like it was really off!

I have a brinsea (a brand that is very well known for its quality) that came set around 104 degrees despite the thermometer reading 99.5 and I just don't pay any attention to the thermometer that came with it. It works great since I adjusted the temperature. If you can set the temperature lower than 98 and manage to get it to read a steady 99.5 on your thermometer the incubator could certainly be good without having to exchange it as long as you keep in mind exactly how many degrees the readout is off.

Seconding to make sure the thermometer you're checking it against is accurate. I have a Nurture Right and mine's thermometer is correct. That's not to say they all are. If yours is very off I'm sure they'd let you exchange it for a more accurate one.

Communicating with Johnny at Manna Pro is useless. Wrote him once about finding out about whether the older model of the Nurture 360 I purchased at Tractor Supply needed the retrofits for the fan housing and the humidistat. He did get back to me after a couple days asking for a pic of the inside of the top. I had started a hatch so I wrote and told him I would send one later along with the information that the unit had started showing an EE error on the humidity reading whenever it went over 50%. Never heard back. Called (got voice mail) and left a message a few days later. Still no answer.
Called again today and hit 0 and was transferred to a lady in Corporate (again a voice mail) who said they were all working from home and someone would return the call. Hey, I and my fellow employees where I work are working from home and we still return calls in a matter of a couple hours, not days or weeks.
I know these are very popular units and everyone (pretty much) raves about them but I hope they never have any issues because Manna Pro's response to customer's complaints is nonexistent. Hope someone from there follows these threads.

Off to send yet another email to Manna Pro. Stay safe and healthy.
