Nutrena All Flock Niacin level

Yeah, another poster posted that recently they contacted Nutrena via email and that was the response. Good info to know.
I didn't realize you could call these companies and actually get a hold of someone. Good to know that as well. :thumbsup

Yeah, I called because of that post. I used to get Naturewise, but switched to Country Feeds because the price difference was significant. Both bags sell for almost identical amounts; but Country Feeds is 50 lbs versus Naturewise at 40 lbs. Country Feeds is 50 cents cheaper AND 10 lbs bigger!

Nutrena has an office or plant near me. When my farm supply store had their free chick days class, an employee of Nutrena taught it. She was quite nice, and very informative.

Interestingly, the closest farm supply store to me carries several Mazuri feeds, just not the waterfowl ones. I saw several alpaca ones, and at least one other I can’t recall clearly. It was one of those corner of the eye observations.

I explained in the other post why it is less expensive for us to feed Nutrena NatureWise All Flock than the Purina Flock Raiser.

We let our ducks forage in a large enclosed area all day. Because of their foraging, in addition to their feed, I always added Brewer’s yeast to their feed when feeding Purina’s Flock Raiser because of Purina’s warning that feeding anything in addition to Flock Raiser would dilute the niacin and make the niacin content too low. The price of Brewer’s yeast more than made the price of feeding Flock Raiser higher than feeding Nutrena NatureWise All Flock. The difference here between the two based on price per pound is 5 cents a pound, however when you add in the cost of Brewer’s yeast, Purina’s All Flock becomes quite a bit more expensive to feed than Nutrena NatureWise All Flock.

P.S. In our area Purina Flock Raiser is 32 cents per pound and Nutrena NatureWise All Flock is 37 cents per pound. However, Purina’s Flock Raiser takes a big leap higher when you add the cost of necessary Brewer’s yeast for niacin if your waterfowl eat anything other than solely Purina Flock Raiser.

***Sorry about all the typos at first. This post made my phone’s autocorrect go totally crazy!
