Well ya just got to feel bad for ol' Betty...she was calling out to the rest of them this morning.

Anyone have a good way to catch the transgressor and a beau for her? I don't get in there with enough conviction and courage..guess I feel like I'm going to hurth them...AND NOW add to that..I'm going to get BIT!

Not yet, but I think I could write one just on the negative aspects of raising Bobs! Just imagine a Department Of Corrections for Bobwhites...........but, then again............they'd be locked up in there from hatch.......until..........with NO PAROLE.......

Yes You Will Occaisionally Get A "black Widow".. I Have 1, If She Wasnt So Freakin Huge She'd Have Gone To Camp Kenmore Long Ago... But She's Massive And Lays Well... So The Boys In The Bachelor Pen All Have To Step And Take 1 For The Team... About 3 Days Is All They Can Stand Before Permanent Damage Ensues

Yikes! I know what you mean about wanting to keep the HUGE ones. The white conturnix I got from you are the HUGEST of all my birds but I only got a few of the orginal ones left (man gave a few away to his friends when i wasnt there) so I'm saving my white babies. They start out smaller but after a couple months they pass everybody up. i seriously want to weigh my two hens they are much bigger than my hand.
 
FUNNY THING ABOUT THE BUTLERS AT LEAST... THE BIGGER THEY ARE THE MORE CANTANKEROUS THEY CAN BE.. THE REALLY BIG ONES DONT SPAZ AND RUN THEY STAND THEIR GROUND AND GET READY FOR ALL OUT KNOCK DOWN DRAG OUT FIGHT... UNFORTUNTELY I HAVE A YOUNG MALE (LIKELY HER SPAWN) THATS RECENTLY TAKEN TO GIVING ME FITS... HE ISNT AS BIG AS MOMMA YET BUT HE'S ONLY 1/2 GROWN SO I AM GIVING HIM A SMALL BIT OF LATITUDE AND "REHABBING" HIS NASTY LIL DEMEANOR

Ya think a bit could give your problem biter the impression he cant hurt you if he cant completely close his mouth? Know he could still make you squeal, but less effective maybe??

ACTUALLY BILL THEY CAN STILL LATCH ON GOOD ENOUGH TO BREAK SKIN OR AT LEAST DRAW A BLOOD BLISTER ON US DISPITE THE BIT. PERSONALLY I DONT LIKE BITS UNLESS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY FOR BIRD SAFETY... THATS NOT THE CASE WITH HIM ITS JUST MY SAFETY. I REALLY THINK HE HAS A CASE OF 18 AND 10 FT TALL AND BULLET PROOF BIG HEAD SYNDROME GOIN ON... HE'S GOT SOME HENS AND YOU KNOW HOW THEY CAN BE... GET A LIL AND ALL THE SUDDEN THEY'RE BIG MAN ON CAMPUS...
