I thought I had some brewers yeast but....I don't. Will nutrional yeast work for the extra niacin? It says it has 70% niacin in 1 tablespoon.

I sprinkle a pinch of nutritional yeast on my gosling's waterfowl starter pellets for niacin. I used to be vegan and relied on nutritional yeast for my B vitamins. She is very healthy and seems to like the bit of flavoring on her food.

That's what I used for mine. Both Nutritional yeast and Brewer's yeast are food supplement used by vegetarians for extra B vitamins. They should be fairly interchangeable. Congrats on the new babies!!

Nutritional yeast here too. From what I read either can be used and nutritional yeast has more vitamins plus I can buy it in the bulk food section and can buy as little as needed. I also cook with it so I always have it on hand. We don't eat much meat and it's great in food.

We like our "nootch" here too! My DH was concerned at first that I was going to give it all to the ducks, so now we have separate containers for ducks and humans!

As little as I need has never been a sentence I have said about nutritional yeast. I have always asked..how many pounds do you have. I have heard it called powdered gold by those who know what it is...its a mix between cheese and butter replacement. Im only on this site today cuz im making pasta for my kids and when I google what is nutritious to put on pasta for chickens i only get horrifying chicken recipes. Does anyone have any ideas?

Nutritional here also because we use it in our food. It’s delicious and the birds love it. I mix it into their treat mix which also has cracked corn, mealworms, oyster shell, and granulated garlic.

I just leave a bowl of it out for my hens to eat as they please, they love it. I am going to put a bowl in with my chicks and closely watch them.
