I really need some advice. I got my 4 pullets through a feed store about 3 and a half months ago and have since fed them a 50 pound bag of medicated Purina chick mash. The bag just ran out and the original store I went to was too far away. I was unable to get the Purina so I got some food that is made here in Colorado and seems a lot more natural, which I like. The problem is that the new food seems generic and has no info on the bag. after going to there website I have gotten the feeling that it is not as comprehensive as the Purina and Im worried about my chicks nutrition. Do I need oyster shell and or some other supplements? I do give them food scraps that I see fit and they do have a little grass. Here is a picture of the new bag of Ranch-Way feed:

All it says is "Poultry Feed Granules"

Thank You, Jenk

What they need Is a high protein feed like 18% protein. oyster shell is mainly for calcium, but they do not need that untill there 18weeks old or start laying eggs. Take a look at countrysidenatural.com thay have high qrade food. good luck

I use the chick starter by RW for my chicks & sewn into the bottom part of the bag (where they seal it shut) is a tag with all the info on it. Does yours have that? If not, please be assured that from all the research I did into RW it IS up to par as far as the nutrients go.

here is a list of their poultry feeds that you can click on. It will bring up an adobe document with the ingredients & analysis.
