Nutritional Yeast For Duckling Joint Issues!??

this will give you doses for age of your duckling
https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/niacin-deficiency-in-waterfowl.1367557/

I have used Bobs Red Mill Nutritional yeast it's good stuff. I still use it for my adult ducks.
But for one having issues the liquid B complex is the best.
@Miss Lydia I can’t find Vitamin B complex in my area unfortunately. We don’t have TSC in canada. Amazon Canada doesn’t carry vit b complex either. would the yeast still help with my little duck’s legs?

Can you buy human B complex? if you can you can crush the tablet and use it
I haven’t been able to find any so far. The nearest pharmacy is a few hours, I could try and find some there when I go maybe. Any niacin ones I’ve found are the no flush ones. I’m mostly worried about proper dosage with the human ones. about 2 teaspoons of Bobs red mill yeast is 10mg of niacin. that’s the recommended daily amount for ducklings from what I’ve researched. My only question is do ducklings with a deficiency need more niacin that the average duckling.

Start using Bob red mill it's 1 Tablespoon per cup of feed. With human B complex you'd have to cut it down.
Where in Canada are you? a member in Alberta maybe able to help you track things down.
I am not sure why the liquid works better for one that is showing issues but it does, and yes I do think a duckling with a deficiency does need more.

Thank you. And yes I’m in Alberta.

Hello fellow Albertan
I find it very hard to get things here in Canada like the USA can get
I tried to get the vitamin B complex for cattle and had no luck at our feed stores
If the duckling is low on niacin you can read the post @Miss Lydia gave about deficiency’s as it gives amounts needed. I bought straight Niacin 500 mg pulls from the drug store. They come in a capsule with power. I believe it’s 1 pill per 4 gallons of water but that post will say per age / weight of duck (not flush free or time released )
I also use nutridrench, vitamin B complex and poly vi sol ( without iron ) Just a few drops on the side of the beak or add to water
The poly I got at Walmart in the kids vitamin section of pharmacy. The other two I ordered off amazon
If your duck likes scrambled eggs it’s a great way to add vitamins
Mine can’t get enough of his eggs so I know he gets his whole dose. I just take a little bit add the vitamins give that first then give him the rest of his eggs so I know he gets it
