Hi everyone my rooster that was attacked by hawk the day before yesterday - is still hanging in there. I let him rest yesterday then today I decided to try and give him some water. I gave him some through a dropper and nutri drench. I massaged him, well I was just feeling his chest to make sure I didn't miss any possible wound areas. I didn't feel any wounds still but I noticed some gurgling and gas/air noises. I kept rubbing downward and he seemed to enjoy it, but after that his head went limp under his legs again. Im wondering what the gas noises are and if thats related to him holding his head down and seeming to sleep the whole time.

Hi everyone my rooster that was attacked by hawk the day before yesterday - is still hanging in there..
This is the chicken stock thread did you mean to post here ?
I Found this ..
"Bleeding out of the bill + gurgling chest is generally indicative of a chest injury. If you cannot take her to a vet, I am not aware of too many at home options for treating her. Keep her calm and quiet so her breathing is easier."
..May be a Lung injury ...if there is a injury I would not massage it ...leave it alone ..keep him in a dark quiet place ..try giving him some water with electrolytes..add some sugar so he gets some nutrition.
I dont know if he will recover from this ...it depends on how bad the injury is .. he needs to heal
