NY chicken lover!!!!

oh,,,,what kind of goats!? We have Nigeria Dwarfs that we hope are expecting the end of June!!!! Cute little things...have to build them a barn this year and a huge pasture!

We have 2 Pygmy/mix does and 1 Nigerian that we just "adopted" My niece and her husband bought her, pure bred with papers, and had to move to a place with NO animals so now we own her. Thinking about registering her in our name so the kids can show her at the fair. The Pygmys are way more troublemakers than the Nigi.

Random Question - What do you all use as a feed dish for your chicks? I bought the round steel one at TS but I was tired of cleaning it out every day and trying to get all the wood chips out of it without wasting a whole bunch of food. So I switched from using that to a regular size Folgers coffee cap. Which actually works out a little better with them, however I'm beginning to think they enjoy kicking the food out of it and having to search around for it in their bedding! LOL I fill the dish 2-3 times a day once I see it's buried in the bedding of the cage. But at the same time there's a whole bunch of feed all over floor of the cage. Just curious as to what you guys use.

We use the little ones with the screw on jar but I raise the feeder with a bowl, brick, etc to the height of their backs so it is a little harder for the shavings to get in. Same with the waterer too.

Hello, would anyone in New York City be interested in showing us their BYC setup for a piece for Swedish tv? We would come to your apartment and interview you a little bit about how you got started with the chickens and what it's like taking care of them in the city, and then you can show us your coop on your roof or back yard.

Thanks,
Jonathan

Now that you all are talking about this egg selling it's making me wonder...My husband used to get eggs from someone he worked with in Troy, she would bring them in to the restaurant and just give them to people. I'm not sure if it was her or her family's farm she brought them from, but I wonder where she lived and what her or her family has for chickens. I'll have to ask my husband. Hmm.....

LOL i am reading all of these posts about selling eggs and i have to laugh... I know its mean but i do... I get 5$ a dozen =] =] =]

I went "oh wow, I am really unpricing mine"....until I saw your location. And remembered that my neighbors have chickens, I pass at least 3 flocks on my way home each night and CL is FULL of ads for "farm fresh eggs"...so I may be underpriced, but I am not putting an ad on Craig's List, so no one knows my price unless they drive pass the house slow enough to read the sign.
