NY chicken lover!!!!

Good morning everyone,
2 more days until I head back up to Syracuse to spend the weekend with my chickens, I mean husband.

He sent me a pic of the 5 of them this morning when he went out to let them out of the coop. I ended up leaving the lav orps in with them before I left last weekend and they're all doing really great he said. Goldie still rules the roost, as long her spot isn't taken I think everyone will be fine.

I keep hearing mentions of upcoming shows and what not - are these just poultry shows or are there other animals as well? I'm looking to get my hands on two bunnies I promised my kids earlier this year. Was wondering if there were ever any at upcoming shows if anyone would be interested in helping me out as far as getting them to me if I can't attend the show/fair.

Here are my five this morning...

Well, at the sussex county fairgrounds, On saturday their is a fishing derby, poultry show/sale/swap, a rodeo, and a pet expo.... Pet expo may have some? Their very well may have some bunnies/ bunny supplies in the chinese auction (at the poultry show, I believe it is around noon?)

I have baby bunnies that will be ready to go in a couple of weeks...they're satin.

Right now I'm searching for holland lops, I raised them when I was younger and in the rabbit hobby with a couple of mother's who had kids in 4H. I had hollands, mini lops, mini rex, jersey wooly, netherland dwarfs, and a couple of mixes. But out of anything I ever raised I loved the hollands most. If I can't find any locally I will of course probably move onto another breed.

Hen--love the name of your bo hen. Did you name her after the doll on the tv show Family Affair? (Yes, I am really old enough to remember watching that show.)

Both Mrs. Beasley and Buffy are indeed named after "Family Affair." I had a Mrs. Beasley doll when I was a kid, and I loved her. They make replicas now, but they're horrendously expensive, so I can't (yet) justify getting a new one.
