NY chicken lover!!!!

Anybody have an automatic coop door opener? How well do they work?
I have three add-a-motors on three coop doors. They work on a cheapie timer and all have been working fine for a few years. They have a few quirks, but that's mostly related to timing. Gotta make sure you change timers to fit the seasons, but other than that I love them!

I should have a few chicks in about two weeks if anyone needs any to put under a broody.. probably only 10-12. I put a few eggs in just to see if I could get any offspring from my recently deceased NN. But no room for more than a few chicks so will rehome most of these. Just barnyard mix babies! You can have them free if you come get them as day (ish) olds. :)

Also have at least one NN/OE cockerel, maybe two if anyone is interested (free).

Do you remember where you got them? Or what kind they are?

And was this intentional? what breeds?
It was intentional but that number will be paired down come fall.

I have(as best I can remember) 24 adults and 50 chicks.
Adults are Orps, RIR,BLRW, and Americana.

Chicks are Giants, RIR, Oprs,Marans, Amers. 4 eggs in the bator and 2 hens broody.

I have 28 chickens and 12 ducks. So I have been wondering how the muscovy ducks that were pinioned when I got them were getting out of the pen or sitting on top of the fence. Tonight both broodies made an appearance at the same time for their nightly treat and Brownie went after The White Girl with a vengeance. The White Girl used her claws and beak to walk straight up the side of the pen and escape the attack. Who knew?
