NY chicken lover!!!!

Of course, as it's supposed to be extremely hot Wednesday and Thursday, I have to work. I have three other waterers besides the ones already out, so I'll set all of them up on Tuesday and go from there.
Same here, I have to work on wednesday. Already breaking out extra water and will be setting up extra fans on tuesday, as my poor girls are confined to quarters. Supposed to be 100+ so we shall see. I have electrolytes for water, but frozen fruit and the like isn't going to help much since I won't be home. :p Will have to save that for thursday's heat. Too many chickens to keep inside, so I guess I'll just wait and see who makes it. :p

I've never lost a chicken to the heat or cold. I'll have lots of water out on Wednesday and Thursday. I think I'll be working from home all this week, so I can check on the girls while taking coffee breaks

I wish I could be home on wednesday, but at least I will be home thursday. !:)

I have a broody! And it's a CUUUUUTE little one! We call her princess- she's a rumpless araucana with mixed up tufts (one pokes out of the top of her head!) and she's itty bitty. And she's only a young pullet - started laying about a month ago - 6 months old.

Now her little self is in a big cardboard nest box all flattened out. it's a hoot. Hopefully the heat will make her change her mind, but I'll try a chick on her next weekend when I have a few hatch. Will only be less than two weeks, but worth a shot. it's funny having a chicken the size of my hand growl at me. :)

. And Big Red (RIR broody) should be hatching anyday now.

Anyone have any eggs or young chicks? I have two broodies and looking for ameracana or wheaten/cookoo maran eggs. Also looking for a few chicks to keep a lone chick company.

If anyone could help me out, it would be appreciated.

Thanks, guys :)

No word from the shop on my car, but I think it's going to be at least 2 weeks. The insurance guy is going to look at it tomorrow. :p

The ducklings (ok, i guess they are pretty much full grown at this point so I probably shouldn't call them ducklings anymore!) found their way to the pond the other day. They were SO EXCITED and have spent loads of time there since. Like good little ducks, they came home to the duck hut to go to bed. yay!

Probably would not be in time but I will hopefully have chicks on Friday. Nothing special, just mixed breeds. Have one broody, was going to give her a chick or two but was planning to just craigslist the rest. =)

Here's my little pullet broody Princess! She's broody after about a month of tiny blue eggs. :)
