no, mom is a large rex mix and the dad I have no clue what he is! He may have rex in him too but not sure! its so cool tho because when I bred her to the male she came with, her first litter of 9 baby's was black & white, gray & white and solid blue baby's. only 5 made it and this other male I got and put her in with gave me these colors! here something neat, I only bred her once in with both males bucks!!

Those white buns with the butterscotch spots are adorable! My neighbor's two does just had kits - now I want a couple as pets. My dogs wouldn't take well to it, though.

Three of my four hen ducks have officially become duck-women - I found two duck eggs in one of the nest boxes this evening. I guess if a laying spot is good enough for a chicken, it's good enough for a duck!

Congratulations Grandma!

Hello Everyone,
Still on my first egg wait...My Silkie and BO Mix were 20wks last week, I know it will still be a while before I get anything from my Silkie. My Lav Orps are 17wks so I'm assuming the wait from my hen will still be a while. As far as my Roo, he has still not crowed, I'm a little surprised. But I'm wondering if its because he's in the coop with the hens until I let them out in the out in the morning which some days may not be until 11am. Will he actually crow from the inside the coop??

YUP!! A rooster will crow any time, anywhere!!!

Mine crowed at 10 weeks, and it was when I had just let them out in the morning. When he crowed everyone ran and hid, including him. He had no idea he was the source of that scary sound! I was pretty surprised, and entertained. We think his hatch mate the Speckled Sussex may have crowed this morning, it sounded different, he is now 14 weeks.
